Al, the Laysan Albatross, as photographed by John Batchelder
With the calm weather the Coast has been experiencing, Al, the Laysan Albatross, has been making personal appearances in the water off the Point Arena Pier. On Dec. 30th John Batchelder photographed this famous bird.

We would love it if a feather would float away from Al so it can be tested. We could then learn if Al is really Alice.
Does anyone have a photo of Al with something with perspective to show Al's size? I saw one somewhere (ICO?) with a dude on a surfboard in the shot. Al is BIG!
